What if you could live every day as if you were on vacation?
I know what you’re thinking. “Oh, but I have a job.” or, “Oh, that’s fine but I have bills to pay and a house to clean and …. and… ”
Sure, we all have obligations. But that doesn’t mean we can’t at least take a few minutes out of our days to enjoy life. As Ferris Bueller once said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
A Little History
This site originally started as a creative project between sisters called “The Summer of Sister Love.”
The project took shape as I thought about the long, lazy summers of my childhood. My sister and I would always come up with strange and creative projects for ourselves like creating tiny scaled magazines for our Barbie dolls, staple bound and complete with articles, photos we clipped from Barbie catalogs and boxes, and advertisements. One of the surviving issues is pictured above. (Fun fact: we also had a mock newspaper way before The Onion existed, except that it had articles about people we knew instead of national stories. Unfortunately, I don’t think any of those are still around.)
As adults, I think we all too often lose that sense of wonder and creativity, and get bogged down in being “grown ups.”
While the project has changed a bit since then, the original idea is still there. We only get one life. Let’s live it.
